Gobiidae is the world's largest fish family and found globally in tropical, subtropical, and temperate seas. The smallest gobies stay under 1 cm (3/8 in). Some form symbiotic relationships with alpheiid shrimps and share burrows. Many of these interesting behaviors are fascinating to watch, making them excellent additions to any reef or fish-only aquariums. Many burrow-sharing gobies and shrimp gobies are also favorites among nano reef keepers, as they stay small and peaceful toward tank mates, and usually don't stray far from their burrows.
