Jawfish
Jawfishes are known for their burrow-constructing behavior. The burrows are elaborate, built by the fish scooping sand or small stones with the mouth, and lined and reinforced with pebbles and shell fragments. Most are shy and will quickly retreat into the burrow when threatened. Seeing them build their burrows is very fascinating. Jawfishes are peaceful and make a great addition to any reef or fish-only aquarium. They are jumpers and a cover is required.
