Remarks: The young of this fish do a nearly flawless imitation of Centropyge flavissimus, C. heraldi, and C. vroliki. The shape, manner, and color pattern are remarkably similar to their Centropyge models. Once they grow beyond the maximum size reached by the angelfishes they begin to assume the very different adult color form. Also referred to as Chocolate Tang.
