SPS Coral For Sale
When people think of SPS, or Small Polyp Stony Corals, they tend to envision Acropora and Montipora, but there is a lot more to SPS. Originally a blanket term coined very loosely by hobbyists to refer to a few genera that fall under this categorization, most hobbyists have come to know SPS as Acropora, or acros, Montipora, or montis, Pocilopora, more commonly known as cauliflower, Stylophora, more commonly known as cat's paw or birdsnest, and Seriatopora, more commonly known as birdsnest. And out of this group, Acropora is the most challenging genus of corals to keep in the hobby. Being able to consistently keep and even grow them, is the pinnacle of reef-keeping. There are other types of SPS corals lesser known but available to hobbyists such as Pavona, Porites, Psammocora, Leptastrea, Stylocoeniella, or Leptoseris.
