Guarantee Policy

Our policies have changed. Please read carefully.

Live Arrival Guarantee

  • We guarantee live arrival on all fish and corals, as long as your package is accepted in a timely manner, or if “held for pick up” option was chosen, and package was picked up in a timely manner.
  • Signing for your package is no longer required (unless otherwise specifically requested by you). Please track and accept your package in a timely manner. Guarantee is void if the package is not received in a timely matter and photos of DOA are not sent with 2 hours of delivery.
  • In the unlikely event of a DOA (Dead on Arrival), please send a clear digital picture within 2 hours of delivery (based on time stamp on FedEx's website). We may ask you to ship back the deceased animal, so please do not dispose of it. Once we receive the digital photo/s, and we receive the deceased specimen (if applicable), we will issue you a credit toward your next purchase. We do not issue refunds.
  • Please also include condition of the package.
  • Does not apply to local pick ups.
  • There is no guarantee on replacements or purchases made with a credit.
  • We can't guarantee losses that occur due to act of God or weather delay by airline and FedEx.
  • Customer is responsible for shipping fees of replacement.

14-Day Stay-Alive Guarantee (Fish Only)

All fish from the general stock list are guaranteed for 14 days. To receive a credit in the event of a loss:

  • Email 3 photos of the fish laid out on a piece of paper to support@PiecesOfTheOcean.com.
  • Each claim is reviewed with consideration given on a case-by-case basis. We may ask for further proof.
  • Claims due to the following are not covered: missing body, lack of a sand bed for a sand-burrowing fish, bullying, fighting or aggression; jumped fish; and torn bodies as a result of being sucked into pumps.
  • If a claim is approved we will issue you a credit toward your next purchase. We do not issue refunds.
  • Does not apply to local pick ups.
  • There is no guarantee on replacements or purchases made with a credit.
  • We can't guarantee losses that occur due to act of God or weather delay by airline and FedEx.

30-Day Stay-Alive Guarantee (POTO conditioned fish only)

All POTO conditioned fish are guaranteed for 30 days. To receive a credit in the event of a loss:

  • Each claim is reviewed with consideration given on a case-by-case basis. We may ask for further proof.

Local Pick Ups

All livestock purchases are final and have no guarantee after leaving the facility.
